1. Acceptance

By installing and using Subtly - AutoSubs (the "extension") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please uninstall the extension.

2. What the extension does

The extension captures the audio of a browser tab you select, sends it to the Soniox service for transcription and translation, and displays the result on the page and in the side panel. The extension itself is provided free of charge.

3. Third-party account

The extension requires an API key from your own Soniox account. You are responsible for:

• Registering for and securing that account and its API key
• All charges incurred on that Soniox account
• Complying with Soniox's own terms of service

The author of this extension is not affiliated with Soniox and is not responsible for their service, their pricing, or the quality of the translations they produce.

4. Your responsibilities

Use the extension only for lawful purposes. In particular, you are responsible for ensuring that transcribing, translating, or saving audio content does not violate privacy, recording, or copyright law in your jurisdiction. Many jurisdictions require the consent of all parties before conversation content may be processed.

5. No warranty

The extension is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Translations are machine generated and can be wrong. Do not rely on them in situations where an error would carry serious consequences, including medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical use.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author shall not be liable for any damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the extension. This includes damages resulting from incorrect translations, loss of data, or charges incurred with third-party services.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated over time. The current version is always published on this page with its date. Continuing to use the extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
